Namma Metro Phase 2 Lines Serving Thanisandra And North Bangalore

Two new lines matter most to North Bangalore: the Pink Line to Nagawara and the Blue Line to the airport. Here is where each stands...

Metro timelines shape where people choose to live, which is why the Bangalore metro phase 2 completion timeline matters so much to buyers in the north. This post sets out where the key lines stand and what they will connect. Dates change often, so treat every target here as indicative.

Namma Metro Blue Line and Pink Line status

For North Bangalore, the Namma Metro Blue Line and Pink Line status is what counts. The Pink Line runs from Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north, with a long underground stretch through the centre. Its underground section terminating at Nagawara has been targeted for December 2026, though recent reports suggest parts of the opening could slip into 2027. Our post on when the Pink Line reaches Nagawara covers it in detail.

The Blue Line is the airport corridor, linking the Outer Ring Road and Hebbal with Kempegowda International Airport. Its Yelahanka station, about 4.6 km from Thirumenahalli, is targeted for around June 2027, subject to change, and Bagalur Cross station is about 5.0 km away. Our Blue Line impact guide explains what it means for Thanisandra.

Interchanges

Nagawara will serve both the Pink and Blue lines, making it a key interchange about 7.7 km from Thirumenahalli. Hebbal is set to become a multi-line station, with the Blue Line joined by an approved Orange Line.

Bangalore metro network 2027

If current targets hold, the Bangalore metro network 2027 will look very different from today's for northern residents. A resident of Thanisandra could reach the city centre on the Pink Line from Nagawara, or the airport on the Blue Line from Yelahanka, without relying on congested roads.

Other lines in the network

Elsewhere, the city's network continues to grow, with lines serving the south and east of Bangalore. For northern residents, the value of those lines comes through interchanges: once the Pink and Blue lines connect at Nagawara, the wider network becomes reachable without long road trips.

Why timelines slip

Underground tunnelling, land acquisition and system testing all take time, and metro projects in most cities run later than first planned. The practical approach is to choose a home that works without the metro and treat each opening as a bonus.

What it means for prices

Much of the price effect of a metro line arrives before opening. The Bangalore metro phase 2 completion timeline therefore matters for buyers: Thanisandra's outlook is 8% – 12% a year in a stable market, with potential uplift around metro commissioning.

At Codename Club Class, both lines sit within about 8 km. See the location page or book a site visit.
